VOICETHREAD

Hello Everyone, 

This separate page on my blog is going to be dedicated to exploring the tool VoiceThread and discussing various ways in how this tool will help me during my educational career and how it fits under the Educational category in my Personal Learning Environment. 

What is VoiceThread? How can you effectively use it?    

VoiceThread is an online platform that allows group conversations to take place from anywhere in the world (Welcome to the VoiceThread 4 Education wiki). This type of collaborative thinking online is a great way to be able to generate new ideas from a certain topic. Upon learning about this tool and using it for my first time, I realized how interactive the tool can be. Also I was very impressed with how easy a slide can generate an abundance of feedback which can translate into the formation of many new great ideas.

Due to this ability of being able to gain so many insights on a topic this tool is great for a student like myself in the university setting. The first way I can use this tool to enhance my learning would be to use it during seminar presentations. Seminar presentations can be challenging when trying to entertain and engage a class for 40-50 minutes, especially when speaking can be challenging for some. Therefore, by using this tool in class, I would be able to get the whole class involved without putting them on the spot. Furthermore, this activity in a seminar would generate quality ideas since it allows people the time to think and write down a quality answer. 

Also I believe that voice thread could be used to enhance my academic learning when I am looking for information to do research projects. Slides such as the one that we used in the activity provide so much information and personal opinions that it allows you too see numerous sides of a topic, which then allow you to form an opinion and gain insight on a topic in a quick and easy manner. 

In conclusion, I can see myself using the VoiceThread platform in future academic projects or endeavours.
